The high-water marks are an interesting part of the downtown landscape. I took these pictures in December, 2009. I remember the 1988 floods pretty well. From my house there was no way to get to Peden unless you went the longer back-way over the hills.

Wertheim floods...
On t.v. news back in 2003(I believe)there were some flood scenes of Wertheim and people walking on elevated wooden planks downtown.The water markers show
that Wertheim is prone to flooding
and the confluence of the Main and
Taubers have not helped.
