Here's a nice submission for the Blog courtesy of Lyndell Lane, and forwarded to me by Allen Seich. A Peden Barracks PX receipt from 1961. Thanks guys! When I was there in the late 80s we had the PX, a bookstore, a gas/convenience store, a commissary and a stereo/CD store. I don't remember if we had a Class VI store or not (we preferred the local bier store across the river).

PX
It sure brings back memories.First
and foremost of buying an expensive
German camera for a college friend.
I believe there was clothes outlet
from Hong Kong co. offering so-
called handmade suits,very reason-
able and nice.I didn't buy any because there was no reason
for it.However I purchased some
shirts from a store on Regents St.
and wonderful sports coat on Carna-
by St.London.I'd loved going to PX.
only real outlet in buying personal
items.One big problem, we didn't
have much spending money.Haircut
was .25 not bad, only one style, short.German barbers had a field day,in and out for soldiers.Peden
Barracks ,72nd F/A (SC)
